Victorian U14 hockey has given Greensborough junior Roop an exciting opportunity after his selection in the 2026 Victorian Under 14 Boys Development Team.

Greensborough Hockey Club congratulates Roop on reaching this important representative milestone. The selection recognises the work he has already completed while creating another opportunity to train, compete and learn in a higher-performance environment.

What Victorian U14 hockey involves

Roop will join the Victorian development group as it prepares for competition in Canberra in October. The experience will introduce him to new teammates, coaches and playing expectations. It will also challenge him to adapt to a different hockey environment.

Representative hockey can help junior players develop decision-making, communication and confidence. They see different styles of play and learn from coaches and players outside their usual club setting. Those lessons can support their ongoing development when they return to club hockey.

A milestone for Roop and the Burra junior program

Greensborough is proud to see a junior player earn an opportunity beyond regular club competition. Victorian U14 hockey is one part of a wider development journey, and Roop’s selection recognises the progress he has made through consistent training and enjoyment of the game.

His achievement can also encourage younger Burra players. It shows how curiosity, effort and support from coaches, teammates and family can help create future opportunities in hockey.

Families can learn more about starting hockey at Greensborough and explore the club’s junior pathway. For official information about representative competitions and player development, visit Hockey Victoria.

Good luck in Canberra

The whole club wishes Roop well as he prepares for the Victorian campaign and the trip to Canberra in October. We hope he enjoys the challenge, learns from the experience and represents his state with pride.

Congratulations again on earning your place in the 2026 Victorian Under 14 Boys Development Team. We look forward to following Roop’s progress and cheering him on in Victorian colours.
