Greensborough Hockey Club has wrapped up Men’s Health Round 2026, a club-wide opportunity to put an important issue alongside the hockey and encourage conversations that matter.
Across the round, players and supporters were encouraged to acknowledge men’s health and show their support by adding blue to the usual green and white. The result was a visible reminder that community sport can do more than provide competition—it can also help create space for connection, awareness and support.
Using hockey to start conversations
Men’s Health Round gives the club a chance to recognise that physical and mental wellbeing are part of the same community that brings people to training and games each week. Sporting clubs are places where people see each other regularly, build friendships and notice when someone may need support.
That makes the round valuable beyond the fixtures themselves. The blue clothing and special recognition help create a prompt for conversations that can continue well after the round has finished.
Recognising the medal winners
The 2026 round also included best-on-field medals, recognising players who produced standout performances during the dedicated Men’s Health Round matches.
Those awards add a hockey element to the occasion while keeping the wider purpose visible: celebrating performance, looking after teammates and strengthening the connections that make the club more than a collection of teams.
