Greensborough Hockey Club congratulates Roop on his selection in the 2026 Victorian Under 14 Boys Development Team.
Representative selection is an important milestone for any young player. It recognises the work already done while also creating another opportunity to train, compete and learn in a higher-performance environment.
A chance to represent Victoria
Roop’s selection will see him join the Victorian development group as it prepares for competition in Canberra in October. For a junior player, the experience of representing Victoria brings new teammates, new coaches and the challenge of adapting to a different hockey environment.
Those experiences can be valuable well beyond a single tournament. They expose players to different styles of play, higher expectations and new ideas they can bring back into their club hockey.
A milestone for Roop and the Burra junior program
Greensborough is proud to see junior players earning opportunities beyond club competition. Representative pathways are one part of a player’s development journey, and Roop’s selection is a terrific recognition of the progress he has made.
It is also something younger Burra players can look to as an example of where consistent training, curiosity and enjoyment of the game can lead.
