Women’s 35+ grand final: a hard-earned path
The Women’s 35+ side had to go all the way to a shootout. The pressure finish showed the resilience and composure needed in finals hockey.
Their qualifying-final win earned them a grand final against Hawthorn on Wednesday 9 September.
Strong midweek representation
The result added to a successful run for Greensborough’s midweek teams during the 2026 finals series. These competitions helped players stay involved in hockey, compete with teammates and represent the club during the week.
For the wider Burra community, the grand final appearance recognised a team that did not always play in the main weekend spotlight. Midweek teams are an important part of the broader Greensborough playing community.
