Round 11 of the Get Active Kids Voucher Program is now open. Eligible Victorian families can apply for a voucher of up to $200, or seek reimbursement for eligible fees already paid.
The program is designed to reduce the cost of children and young people participating in sport and active recreation. At Greensborough Hockey Club, an approved voucher can reduce eligible membership, registration or participation fees. It is not a general-purpose payment and cannot be used for unrelated purchases.
Who may be eligible?
For Round 11, a child or dependant must:
- be aged 0 to 18 years;
- live in Victoria; and
- meet at least one of the program’s eligibility pathways:
- be named on both a Health Care Card and a Medicare Card;
- be named on both a Pensioner Concession Card and a Medicare Card;
- hold a temporary, provisional or student visa, or be an undocumented migrant; or
- reside in Victorian Care Services or kinship care.
For each eligible child, families can apply for either one voucher or one reimbursement in Round 11, not both. The program’s eligibility assessment is made by Get Active Victoria, not by Greensborough Hockey Club.
Important Round 11 dates
- Applications open: 15 September 2026.
- Applications close: 10:00 am on 13 October 2026, or earlier if the available funding is exhausted.
- Voucher expiry: 27 April 2027.
- Voucher redemption closes: 18 May 2027.
- Reimbursement expenditure period: eligible fees paid from 1 May 2026 until the reimbursement application is submitted.
Round 11 is expected to be the only funding round between now and June 2027. Vouchers can be used for eligible participation in summer or winter sport before they expire.
How the voucher can be used at GHC
Eligible families can apply for a voucher through the Get Active Kids Voucher Program application page.

After the voucher is issued, email the voucher code to the GHC Treasurer so it can be applied to the child’s eligible registration or membership payment. The voucher can be used once, in one transaction, with the activity provider selected in the application.
Examples of eligible GHC costs
Subject to the program rules and the structure of the relevant GHC fee, examples may include:
- a junior membership fee;
- a junior registration fee for a hockey season or competition;
- an eligible participation fee for a GHC hockey program; or
- a uniform item or safety item, such as a mouthguard, only where it is incorporated into and charged as part of the eligible membership or registration fee.
For example, if an eligible child’s GHC registration and membership fees total $420, an approved $200 voucher may reduce the amount the family needs to pay to the club to $220. If the eligible fee is less than $200, the voucher does not create a cash balance or credit for later use.
What the voucher cannot be used for
The voucher is limited to the program’s approved purpose: reducing the cost of a child’s participation in sport or active recreation. It must not be used for:
- standalone hockey sticks, bags, shoes or other equipment;
- uniforms or safety items bought separately from membership or registration fees;
- food, drinks or canteen purchases;
- travel, accommodation or transport;
- merchandise, fundraising, donations or social activities; or
- any other purchase that is not an eligible membership, registration or participation fee under the program rules.
Families must not ask the club to convert the voucher into cash or a refund. The club must charge only the eligible amount used for the child’s approved fees and cannot redeem any unused balance.
Already paid your GHC fees?
If eligible fees have already been paid, a family may be able to apply for reimbursement of up to $200. For Round 11, the payment must relate to an eligible membership, registration or participation fee paid from 1 May 2026 until the reimbursement application is submitted.
Reimbursement applicants must provide evidence of the paid expense. The official guidance states that the evidence must show the payment date, include at least $50 of eligible paid fees and match or exceed the amount being claimed. Apply through the Get Active Kids reimbursement pathway.
