R U OK? Any Day: Looking Out for Each Other at Burra

At Greensborough Hockey Club, looking out for one another is part of being a strong club community. R U OK? Day gives us a useful reminder that meaningful conversations should not be limited to one day of the year.

The 2026 theme, Ask R U OK? Any Day, reflects a simple idea: life happens every day, and regular conversations with the people around us can make it easier to notice when someone may need support.

Checking in can be part of everyday club life

Hockey brings together players, parents, coaches, officials, volunteers and supporters of all ages. Training nights, matches, social events and time around the club are all opportunities to stay connected. A genuine question, followed by the time to listen, can be valuable.

You do not need to be an expert to show that you care. If someone seems unlike themselves, or you simply have not checked in for a while, consider starting a conversation and giving them your attention.

Practical resources

R U OK? provides accessible resources to help people prepare for conversations, support others and learn more about staying connected. Visit the R U OK? community resources for practical guidance.

At Burra, we want our club to be a place where people feel welcome, connected and comfortable looking out for each other — on R U OK? Day and on any day.
