The GHC Future Fund gives today’s members, families, past players and supporters a practical way to pass that legacy forward.
Established through the Australian Sports Foundation, the Future Fund is a voluntary, tax-deductible giving pathway designed to strengthen the next generation of Greensborough Hockey Club. Donations of $2 or more are tax-deductible through the ASF, which issues the official donation receipt.
More than the cost of running a season
Membership fees, sponsorship, canteen income, events and grants all help keep the club operating. The Future Fund has a different purpose: it helps GHC invest in what comes next.
It gives the club a more sustainable way to support development, participation and long-term improvement rather than relying only on one-off fundraising or the same small group of volunteers.
What your gift can help build
Future Fund donations support practical, future-facing priorities across the club, including:
- Junior development and coaching — stronger junior pathways, coach development, beginner programs and player development.
- Equipment and participation support — shared training equipment and practical support that helps reduce barriers to participation.
- Inclusive access initiatives — support for girls’ participation, beginner confidence, affordability, school-to-club transition and welcoming club environments.
- Facility and community improvements — practical improvements that strengthen the experience for players, families, volunteers and visitors.
- Long-term club sustainability — building a stronger funding base so GHC is less dependent on short-term fundraising.
Who can be part of the Future Fund?
The Future Fund is for anyone who wants to help strengthen the Burra future.
Current families can help improve the environment around their children and teammates. Past players, coaches and supporters can give back to the club that shaped them. Local community supporters can help strengthen grassroots sport. Larger donors can help establish the Future Fund as a serious long-term club asset.
For past Burras in particular, the message is simple: once a Burra, always part of the story. The club was built by people who gave before us. The Future Fund is one way to pass that opportunity forward.
A voluntary donation pathway
The Future Fund is separate from membership fees, sponsorship, voting rights and team selection. It is a philanthropic donation pathway through the Australian Sports Foundation and does not provide commercial sponsorship benefits.
You can make a one-off gift, give again in future years if you choose, share the Future Fund with former teammates, or invite an old team group to contribute together.
