Nominations are open for Hockey Victoria’s 2027 U16 and U18 Academy Draft Camps, held this November.
GHC players interested in the academy pathway can take part in modified games and match play with high performance coaches. The camps provide coaching and an opportunity to be assessed for further selection.

Who should attend the Academy Draft Camps?
These camps are intended for players who have not met Hockey Victoria’s automatic academy entry criteria.
For the U16 camp, HV also states that the draft route is for players who did not participate in the Junior State Championships. Selected players will be invited to a further one-day camp, where they can be considered for the 2027 U16 Academy.
The U18 camp provides an assessment opportunity for selection into the 2027 U18 Academy.
If you are unsure whether your child should nominate, check with Hockey Victoria before registering and paying. Attending a draft camp does not guarantee academy selection.
Another U16 development option
The U16 registration form also allows players to express interest in the Emerging Talent Academy if they are not offered a main academy place.
HV describes this programme as six sessions plus online learning, with a focus on individual skills, game awareness and decision-making. Check the programme’s fees and commitments separately.
