Watching hockey at Greensborough is a simple way to discover the sport and the club community. You do not need to be an experienced player to feel welcome. A friend, family member, school visit or local event may be your first introduction.
Watch hockey at Greensborough on a match day
Watching a training session or match helps you understand the pace, atmosphere and different ways people take part. Find a match in the fixtures and check its date, time and venue before travelling. Some GHC matches are at other grounds, and fixtures can change. For a home match, find the Greensborough Hockey Centre. Arriving a little early gives you time to settle in.
Hockey moves quickly, so do not worry if you miss details at first. Watch how players move the ball, create space and work together. You may also notice coaches, officials, volunteers, families and supporters helping the day run well.
What to expect when you visit
Wear comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for walking around the venue. Bring water and consider sun protection when matches are played outdoors. If you are bringing children, explain that they can watch for as long as they remain interested. There is no requirement to stay for a full match.
Members can explain the basic rules, age groups, equipment and pathways. Asking questions is a useful way to decide whether playing, volunteering or supporting Greensborough Hockey Club is right for you. You can ask about beginner sessions, junior participation or ways to return to hockey after time away.
Find your connection with hockey
People contribute in different ways. You may become a player, a parent supporter, a volunteer, a social participant or someone who enjoys being part of the local hockey community. Watching first can help you choose a level of involvement that suits your interests and circumstances.
If you cannot get to the ground, see how to watch selected home matches online. Check the match listing and access terms there before choosing a stream. Read the GHC community resources for other ways to connect with the club.
You can come along to a listed match and watch without booking with GHC. If you are unsure which match to choose or need help planning your visit, use the contact page. Check the fixture venue and any late changes before you travel.
