Greensborough Hockey Club’s Under 12 Mixed team has completed a brilliant 2026 season by winning the grand final 1–0 against Camberwell.
The result capped a year in which the Burra side also finished as minor premiers, turning a strong home-and-away campaign into the ultimate reward on grand final day.

A tight grand final against Camberwell
With a premiership on the line, the U12M group faced Camberwell in a contest that was always likely to come down to small moments. Greensborough found the breakthrough they needed and then protected the lead to finish with a 1–0 victory.
Grand finals often bring a different kind of pressure, particularly for young players. The team’s ability to stay composed in a low-scoring match and see the game through was a fitting end to a season built on consistent performances.
Minor premiers and grand final winners
Winning the grand final was the final step in an already successful year. The team had finished the regular season on top as minor premiers, putting themselves in a strong position entering the finals series.
Completing the season with both the minor premiership and the grand final title is a significant achievement. It reflects the work of the players across the whole season, as well as the support of coaches, team officials, families and everyone who helped the group train, prepare and compete each week.

A big Burra crowd behind the team
The Facebook celebration also highlighted the strong Greensborough crowd that came out to support the team. Junior grand finals are an important club moment because they bring together players, parents, coaches and supporters from across the Burra community.
That sideline support helped make the occasion even more memorable for a young team experiencing premiership success together.
Congratulations to the U12M premiers
Congratulations to every player, coach, team official and family involved in the 2026 Under 12 Mixed season.
Finishing as minor premiers and then defeating Camberwell 1–0 in the grand final is an outstanding way to complete the year—and a result the team can be proud of for a long time to come.
