Greensborough Hockey Club’s Men’s 40+ team has capped off the season in style, winning the 2026 grand final with a convincing 6–2 victory over TEMs.

A strong finish against the top side

TEMs entered the grand final as the top-ranked team, giving Greensborough a significant challenge in the season’s final match. The Burra responded with six goals and held TEMs to two to secure the premiership.

The scoreline tells part of the story, but the achievement is bigger than one result. Winning consecutive premierships requires a team to keep performing across multiple seasons while maintaining the commitment, enjoyment and team connection that make masters hockey such an important part of the club.

Strong Burra support on the sideline

A large Greensborough crowd was at the ground for the grand final, adding plenty of green-and-white support to the occasion.

That connection between players and supporters is a big part of finals hockey. Masters teams include long-standing club members, players who have returned to hockey, and people who continue to contribute to club life well beyond their own matches. A premiership is therefore something the wider Burra community can celebrate together.

Back-to-back premiers

The 2026 title follows last season’s success and gives the Men’s 40+ group consecutive premierships. The result is another reminder of the strength of Masters hockey at Greensborough, where experienced and returning players can continue competing as part of the club.

Congratulations to every player and supporter involved in the campaign. A 6–2 grand final win, against the competition’s top side, is a fitting way to finish another strong season for the Burra.
