At this time the details are not available but if we are following the AIS National Principles we can expect the road back to look similar to the following:
1. Victorian Government gives approval for us to move to “Level B” so training can resume for small groups (not more than 10).
This would be on the basis of ‘get in, train and get out’ with hand hygiene on entry, exit and during training.
2. Hockey Victoria provide details of the competition options based on one or more possible start and end dates for the season. Hockey Victoria are currently working with clubs on various scenarios so they will be in a position to release details as soon as possible.
3. Health & Human Services Victoria & Nillumbik Shire Council release detailed health & safety guidelines we must adopt.
4. Players register with the Greensborough Hockey Club, for the Hockey Victoria competition (details of this process will be released when we have more details). This step will be very important as it allows us to determine how many teams and in what grades we can play in season 2020. If you registered prior to the shutdown you will need to reconfirm your availability.
5. The Hockey Victoria season commences
What we do not know is when the road back commences and how long between the commencement of training in small groups (Level B) and the resumption of full competition (Level C).
When we resume education to promote required behaviours will be so important. For example, maintaining distances of at least 1.5 metres, good hand hygiene and staying away from hockey if you have any symptoms.
