3. Our Resources

Our Resources

It is essential we maintain a strong financial base and a deep pool of talented people in relevant roles on and off the field. Understanding the requirements of the various roles and documenting the processes so we can pass on knowledge to the next person taking on the role. The quality of the club’s facilities supports the provision of quality training and playing opportunities.

A revenue model delivers an understanding of our cashflow and needs, helping the club to set fees and grow the club. By focusing on the variables that have the most impact on the clubs financial results we can address them individually and allowing us to see at what point revenue changes as the data is manipulated. The goal is to understand the risks to our revenue so that we can reduce the impacts of the significant risks should they occur.

By using a repeatable processes to get work done we will improve the processes as we will not need to rely on guesswork or memory. We will document our processes as improvements are unlikely if we are unaware of:

  • What processes are taking place
  • What the role of each is in the process
  • What the our is in the process
  • How the process impacts the end results

The induction and training process is an opportunity to bring our volunteers up to speed on our mission, our policies and procedures, and the responsibilities of the volunteer role. It is how we ensure they have everything they need to be successful in their roles. Volunteers are not paid so it’s important to develop alternative incentives to keep them engaged. An induction program that creates buy-in is a great way to incentivize volunteers and get them excited to work for our club.

Facility management is about focusing on the long term and understanding how facilities impact on the club achieving its goals. For example, the quality of our facilities impacts on our ability to attract and retain our players.
