Goal scoring skill

Hi everyone, and welcome to a new training tutorial. Today, I want to share a scoring technique inspired by players like Mirco Pruijser and Billy Bakker. It’s a fun and creative way to finish on goal when you receive the ball with your back to the goal and the goalie. Let’s get started.

Step one is to open your stick slightly when the ball arrives, allowing it to lift into the air. Once the ball is in the air, you’ll use your left hand to rotate the stick, positioning the flat side towards the goal. This is when you grip the stick with both hands and tap the ball into the goal.

There are two things to consider when performing this technique. First, the height to which you let the ball go in the air. If there’s a defender nearby, it’s important to avoid lifting the ball too high, as it could be deemed dangerous play by the referee. Adjust the height based on the proximity of the defender. Second, you can choose to turn your stick in the shorter direction or the longer direction to score. The shorter direction is easier, going up and turning towards the goal. The longer direction is a bit more challenging but fun to practice. It involves lifting the ball and turning the stick around to finish. By going up and turning this way, you can protect the ball from defenders coming from behind, potentially avoiding a penalty corner.

Remember to practice this technique and experiment with different variations. It’s a great way to add creativity and surprise to your goal-scoring abilities.
