The club hosts and enters a number of social and competitive teams throughout throughout summer. It’s not necessary to be a Greensborough Hockey club member to play. This is a perfect chance to bring a friend along, even if they’ve never played hockey before. Loaner sticks are available at the club.
Juniors
Greensborough will be running an internal competition for seven weeks on Thursday evenings commencing on Thursday 4 November. Boys and girls will be selected in teams for Week 1 and will stay in their selected team for the full six weeks.
The competition will follow a ‘Summer Sixes’ format and is expected to be played on quarter pitch, depending on Age Group and numbers. We anticipate the need for teams to be gender mixed, rather than gender specific. The actual schedule of matches will be confirmed once registrations are received
Seniors
Greensborough will be running a full-field internal competition from mid-October. Come and connect with hockey players of all skill levels and age groups. Bring along family and friends and enjoy the relaxed, social and welcoming Burra Hockey Family atmosphere. The bar will be OPEN FOR BUSINESS so why not relax and enjoy yourself after the game with family and friends.
Indoor Hockey
Indoor is a fast pace and quick decision making game. Great for experienced players who wish to push themselves. Games are played at the State Netball Hockey Centre from early October. Teams are 6 on the pitch and teams can have up to 12 players.
Hockey Victoria Summer Hockey
Every year Hockey Victoria organise a summer hockey series for various age groups, games are organised so that all games in a division are played at the same venue.
