DO NOT RESUME TRAINING JUST YET
The government has given the ok for us to resume but first we need to address several issues before we can be satisfied we have done all we can to reduce the risk of COVID-19 infections.
Before we can resume we will need the local council “go ahead” and to help us with that, Hockey Victoria will soon provide us with their guidelines.
Hockey training will not be the same as it was. You can only train in groups with a maximum size of 10 plus the coach. You must at all times keep more than 1.5 m from all others so tackling will not be allowed.
We will also need to keep records of everyone attending training for each and every training session, just in case there is a need for contact tracing.
There will be hygiene protocols where the players will be personally responsible for compliance. As we work with council and Hockey Victoria we will have more details to provide.
Also, there are the general protocols with which you will already be familiar as they apply everywhere and not just at hockey training:
- wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
- avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth
- avoid close contact with people who are sick
- stay home and seek medical attention when you are sick
- cover your mouth to cough or sneeze
Just as soon as we complete our checklist of tasks we will let you know when training in groups can commence. We appreciate your understanding and assistance and hope it will not be long. Thank You
