For those players wanting to play in the senior competition, some information is outlined below:
- After U18s players must move to a senior- team but many players choose to do this while playing under U16s or U14’s as it can be a big step moving to seniors
- not just in the level of competition but also in the more independent way the players are treated, as adults rather than children.
- Greensborough Hockey Club will promote a successful transition into seniors by encouraging young players to join a senior team, and play in both junior and senior competitions concurrently. Such experience, by exposing them to different competitions, will aid their on field development
- While encouraging their participation, Greensborough Hockey Club acknowledges that these players are not yet adults, and respects the wishes of the parent or child should they choose to play seniors either part time or not at all
- The Greensborough Hockey Club’s preference is that all juniors playing seniors should continue to remain available to play in a junior competition (including training) as a priority over playing in a senior competition.
- In addition to the registration fee payable to Hockey Victoria: Greensborough Juniors playing Seniors full time pay a combined club fee of $450, Greensborough Juniors playing Seniors part time pay the club’s junior fees plus a match fee of $10 per senior game. If you are playing seniors at Greensborough but Juniors at another club your Greensborough club fees are $505
