If your child is looking for a new team sport in 2026, Greensborough Hockey Club is welcoming new junior players aged around 4 to 16 for a free come-and-try program across February and March.
Many local families know AFL, soccer, basketball or netball well. Hockey is often less familiar, but it’s a fast, fun team sport and it’s non-contact. It’s a great option for kids who enjoy being active, learning new skills, and being part of a team environment where everyone improves together.
No experience needed
This program is designed for kids with little or no hockey experience. There’s no pressure to “already know how to play” before turning up. We’ll help new players learn the basics step-by-step in a friendly, structured way.
We can also lend a hockey stick for each session your child attends, so families can try it without needing to buy equipment upfront.
Free Come & Try – February and March
Throughout February and March, new players are welcome to attend training sessions for free while they decide if hockey is the right fit.

Registering early helps us plan properly for 2026 by matching team entries with the number of players wanting to play. It also allows us to organise coaching support and make sure new players are placed in the right environment to enjoy their start in hockey.
