Education will help minimise the risk of COVID-19 infection

EDUCATION IS THE KEY TO MINIMISING THE RISK OF COVID-19 INFECTION

The guidelines allowing the club to organise the return to training will soon be with us but one major issue will be the willingness of the players to take responsibility for their own health & safety.

Β

All the rules and advice will not help if you do not use ‘common sense’ and act in accordance with the rules and advice – it is up to every single player to take the responsibility for doing whatever is necessaryΒ to minimise the risk of COVID-19 infection.

EDUCATION IS ONLY THE START …

7 STEPS TO PREVENTING THE SPREAD OF COVID-19

1. Wash your hands with soap and water regularly and thoroughly; this means for at least 20 seconds.

2. Cough or sneeze into your elbow or into a clean tissue, then throw the tissue in the bin.

3. If you’re feeling sick or showing symptoms of coronavirus, you should call your GP for advice β€” they will tell you if you need to get tested.

4. Stay 1.5 metres apart and do not exchange physical greetings or meet or exercise in groups of more than 10.

5. Keep a diary with names and dates if you are regularly exercising with a group that includes people outside your household.

6. When training, arrive in your gear ready to train as the changerooms and clubrooms are not available. Training is on the basis of ‘get in, train and get out’.

7. Take personal responsibility for your own health and safety and encourage others to do the same. Call out breaches of guidelines and report persistent failures to someone in authority.

IF YOU ARE UNWELL DO NOT COME

If you have flu like symptoms consult your GP as soon as possible and if tested for COVID-19 tell the club by sending an email to secretary@greensboroughhockeyclub.com.au
