On Tuesday 30 June, the Premier issued a statement regarding the lockdown of specific Melbourne postcodes in order to combat the continued spread of COVID-19. The lockdown will commence at 11:59pm on Wednesday 1 July.
The lockdown will have a direct impact on a number of Hockey Victoria (HV) affiliates and individual members residing within the postcodes that are being locked down. HV is monitoring and collating all available information and will make an assessment on the potential impact over the next 24-48 hours. We are also meeting with the affected affiliates on Friday 3 July.
In the meantime, HV remains committed to our plan for the return of community hockey:
- Friday 17 July – junior competitions start
- Monday 20 July and Wednesday 22 July –masters/midweek competitions start
- Saturday 25 July – senior competitions start
