🏑 Calling All Future Junior Coaches in 2025! 🏑

Greensborough Hockey Club is looking for Assistant Junior Coaches to help develop the next generation of players! If you’re passionate about hockey, enjoy working with young athletes, and want to gain valuable coaching experience, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

What’s in It for You?

Becoming an Assistant Junior Coach is a fantastic opportunity for your own growth and development!

Coaching Experience – Gain hands-on experience, perfect for future coaching or leadership roles.
Skill Development – Improve communication, leadership, and mentoring abilities.
Personal Growth – Build confidence in managing groups and guiding younger players.
Stronger Hockey IQ – Learn from experienced head coaches and develop a deeper understanding of the game.
Great for Resumes – Coaching demonstrates teamwork, responsibility, and commitment—valuable in any career path.
Give Back to the Club – Inspire and develop the next generation of players.

For those training or coaching with the seniors at 7 PM, we will ensure you have time to transition between your junior coaching role and your own training session.

Key Benefit for Players: Small Group Coaching for Better Learning

A key advantage of having Assistant Junior Coaches is the ability to break large training groups into smaller groups of six, leading to:
More focused learning, with players receiving more individual attention.
Better skill matching, ensuring players train at the right level.
Increased engagement and confidence, fostering deeper learning and faster skill development.

Your role as an Assistant Coach will help create this optimal learning environment, ensuring each child gets the most out of their training.

What’s Involved?

No coaching experience required! The head coach plans the sessions – all you need to do is turn up and follow their lead.
✅ Help keep kids engaged and motivated during training.
✅ Assist with drills, skills sessions, and small-sided games.
✅ Support young players to build confidence and enjoyment in the game.

Commitment & Team Allocation

We require a regular commitment from our assistant coaches. If you are engaged, you will be allocated to a specific team, so it is important that you are a consistent and reliable presence for that team throughout the season.

Who Can Apply?

💙 Anyone with a passion for hockey and an interest in coaching.
💙 Current or former players looking to give back to the club.
💙 No formal coaching experience needed – just enthusiasm and reliability!
