Dear Burra Community
Today I write this letter requesting your help with taking us into the future.
COVID-19 has stolen our hockey season and most of our revenue, so we are expecting a loss of around $40,000 for the year.
We have cut or deferred most expenses but there are some costs we cannot eliminate (council lease, insurance, affiliation fees, coaching and utility bills) and we will soon reach a critical point where the hockey program we run next year and beyond may be in jeopardy.
Our immediate objective is to raise $20,000 so we can pay the bills up until March and then a further $20,000 to fit out our new facilities.
The Club Rooms are on track for completion in February 2021 and while we have met our obligation to contribute $150,000 without assistance, our plan to fully equip the new rooms when they open, will be delayed.
How can you help?
We encourage and hope all members, supporters, and sponsors could make a tax-deductible donation via the Australian Sports Foundation, especially members who participated in training this year.
We also ask members that did pay fees this year, to consider converting the refund to a donation, in part or in full.
