Victoria’s U14 indoor state team assessments on 16 and 23 October
Victoria’s U14 indoor assessments for the 2027 state teams take place on Friday 16 and Friday 23 October 2026. Eligible Burra players can nominate through Hockey Victoria for the chance to represent Victoria at the Australian Indoor Hockey Championships.
U14 indoor assessments: dates and times
Both assessments are at the State Netball & Hockey Centre’s Indoor Arena in Parkville. The two divisions swap their session times for the second Friday, so check the schedule for each date before arranging travel.
| Division | Friday 16 October | Friday 23 October |
|---|---|---|
| U14 girls | 5:30–7:30 pm | 7:30–9:30 pm |
| U14 boys | 7:30–9:30 pm | 5:30–7:30 pm |
Hockey Victoria strongly recommends attending both sessions to give players the best opportunity for selection. Arrive 15 minutes before your session and bring a white T-shirt and a black T-shirt. Grey does not meet the clothing requirement.
Eligibility and nominations
For this indoor season, the U14 division is open to players born on or after 1 January 2012. Families should check the organiser’s full eligibility information before completing a nomination.
Nominations close 24 hours before each division’s first assessment. For U14 girls, that means Thursday 15 October at 5:30 pm. For U14 boys, the cutoff is Thursday 15 October at 7:30 pm. The nomination fee is $50.
The assessments for the older divisions have already taken place. This update focuses on the remaining U14 sessions, with the last assessment on 23 October.
Championships and team costs
The U14 championships are scheduled for 9–13 January 2027 at Parkville. Selected players should allow for an approximate team cost of $1,000. Hockey Victoria lists team entry, training, physio equipment and administration among the included costs.
Teams will not use shared accommodation. Players can stay at home or make their own arrangements, while following the team’s attendance requirements. Families should consider the January commitment alongside the assessment dates.
