It is with great sadness that the club advises members and the hockey community of the passing of Margo Glover.
Margo is known to the club as the wife of founding and life member John Glover, mother of David, James, Lorraine and Heather and grandmother to current players Tim and Jonathan Cross.
While Margo never played for Greensborough she was active spending many hours organising social functions, working in the canteen and managing Junior Teams. She was an avid supporter of John who played over 200 A grade games for the club, her sons and grand-sons and, until recently, was a regular at Premier League days.
Margo took great pleasure in the endeavours of everyone at the club and was always optimistic about our chances in a match. Her efforts as a volunteer set the example for generations to follow , as did her caring and happy disposition. An example so well followed by the family with contributions ranging from Junior Committee, Junior Coaching, fund raising, social events and building works as well as playing for the club.
The club sends it sympathy to John, Lorraine, Heather, James, David, Tim and Jono and every other member of the extended Glover family. The club will cherish the memory of Margo’s contribution to the foundation of our great club and its success over the years. A worthy legacy.
