SUMMER HOCKEY:
This year we are establishing our own Summer Competition that will play all games at Plenty Park.
We have an awesome facility at Plenty Park which tends to be underutilised over Summer & this is an opportunity to establish a local competition for existing & new players.
The plan is to expand the Northern District Hockey format to include Senior teams representing Laurimar, Diamond Creek, Eltham & South Morang.
The teams will be Mixed gender & cater for existing players as well as those who may no longer be playing in Winter.
A soon as we have enough interest to fill 4 x teams we will hold a draft & allocate players to teams with the aim of creating 4 x teams of relatively equal skill & experience.
Season timings, Playing Fees & Uniforms:
· The season will run from early November to end of February, with a 5 – 6 week gap for Christmas Holidays
· Games will be played on Monday nights at 7.00 & 8.00pm on Ground 1
· The cost is $100 for the Season (roughly $10 per game) + Finals
· Players will be provided with a playing shirt to be returned at end of the season
· You will be given a pair of socks for the team you are drafted to as part of your fees
· All players need to be registered with HV for insurance purposes & those who played in Winter are already registered
· Arrangement for umpires is still be discussed
The draft will blend players as follows:
· Pennant D x 2 players
· Pennant E x 2 players
· Metro A x 2 players
· Metro B x 2 players
· Masters 35+ x 2 players
· Masters 45+ x 2 players
The Bar & BBQ will be in operation during & after games so that players can socialise.
