WHAT IS THE ZONE CHALLENGE?
The 2015 Zone Challenge is being held in November. The Zone Challenge involves all 10 Representative Zones (6 Metropolitan and 4 Regional Zones) in an U12 and U14 boys and girls competition to improve player development for future JSC Tournaments. Please note – there is no U16 competition in 2015.
Competition Structure
In 2015 the Zone Challenge will be a two round competition with no finals, played over two weekends – November 21/22 and 28/29. All 10 teams play each other once (9×40 minute games) with the winner decided by points. Venues for the first weekend will be fixtured in Metropolitan Victoria (Greensborough and Footscray) and in Regional Victoria for the second weekend (Bendigo and Albury).
The Red Devils are the Metropolitan North Eastern Zone Representative Team. Clubs in the Red Devils include Kew, Doncaster, Box Hill and Greensborough.
Selections into the Red Devils Zone Challenge Teams are by trial only and no exemptions will be given. Trials for all teams will occur on Wednesday October 7th at Greensborough Hockey Club in the evening. Training will occur on Sunday mornings, rotating between the 4 Clubs above. Please note – even if you did not qualify for 2015 JSC Red Devils you may still nominate yourselves for the Zone Challenge.
